The married couple from Ayrshire said they were 'ticked pink' after becoming the Europe's biggest lottery winners in July 2011.

The life-changing prize pushed the Mr and Mrs Weir, who had been husband and wife for 30 years, into the Sunday Times Rich List.

When Adrian and wife Gillian scooped the EuroMillions jackpot last August they said they would repay friends and family who had helped them financially.

They also said, after a life of living within their means, they would treat themselves to a number of luxury holidays and cars.

But cheeky Adrian tried to convince his wife he had forgotten to buy a ticket when they were watching the draw and saw their numbers pop up.

Mrs Bayford said: "I checked the numbers on my phone, the TV, the internet - and we just looked at each other and giggled."

Mr and Mrs Dawes hit the EuroMillions jackpot on only the third time the couple had played the lottery.

Mr Dawes, a shift supervisor for Premier Foods, and Mrs Dawes, a volunteer for the British Heart Foundation, gave a select number of friends £1m each.

Speaking after their win they said: "We couldn’t believe our luck when we realised that we had matched all seven numbers, we had to pinch ourselves.

"We rang Camelot on Saturday to claim the prize and they confirmed that we were the only winners of the £101 million jackpot."

The EuroMillions jackpot of May 2010 was won by a lucky ticket holder but the winner kept their identity secret.

Mr Page only found out he had all winning numbers of his EuroMillions ticket the day after the draw, and celebrated with a bacon sandwich in the morning.

The self-confessed white van man married his girlfriend Justine Laycock and the couple moved into a mansion in the Cotswolds.

After his win Mr Page said: "I’m going to treat myself to a new car, I think, because I’m a ‘white van man’. I haven’t had a car to myself for at least 10 years."

Unemployed mechanic Mr Scadding was £68 into his overdraft on the day he bought the winning EuroMillions lottery ticket.

The grandfather said after his win that he was lucky to be alive after beating testicular cancer five years prior his jackpot scoop.

He said: "When I went to the cashpoint before going to Tesco to buy two lucky dip EuroMillions tickets I was £68 overdrawn.

"I went back to the store to check the ticket while buying some groceries on Saturday because we had no food in the house - we were starving.

"The machine made a funny noise and printed a slip saying contact the lottery office. I thought I'd won £50,000. I'd have been over the moon with that."

Iceland store supervisor Ms Carrington scooped the massive prize after winning with a Lucky Dip ticket.

She planned to marry painter fiancee Matt Topham, 22, in September following their lottery win.
